The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Northern Nigeria, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam, has issued a strong condemnation of the recent brutal killings in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
In a heartfelt statement, Rev. Pam expressed deep sorrow and outrage over the senseless and barbaric attacks that have claimed the lives of innocent and peace-loving citizens. “These repeated acts of violence not only violate human dignity and the sanctity of life but also pose a direct threat to the peace and unity of our state and the nation at large,” he stated.
Northern CAN stands in solidarity with the grieving families and the entire community of Bassa LGA during this painful period. The association calls on security agencies to act swiftly and decisively to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice. “We urge the government at all levels to take proactive steps to protect vulnerable communities and prevent further loss of lives,” added Rev. Pam.

He emphasized the necessity for all stakeholders—including traditional rulers, religious leaders, security operatives, and community-based organizations—to unite in purpose and collaborate to end the cycle of violence that has plagued Plateau State for far too long.
“Plateau must not bleed again,” Rev. Pam concluded, calling for peace, healing, and justice for all affected.
