The Plateau State Government on Thursday, January 15, 2026, commemorated the Armed Forces Remembrance Day with a solemn ceremony held at the J.D. Gomwalk Secretariat, Jos.

The annual event was organized to honour the gallantry and sacrifices of officers and men of the Nigerian Armed Forces who laid down their lives in the defence of the nationās unity, peace, and territorial integrity.
Government officials, security chiefs, veterans, representatives of the Nigerian Legion, civil servants, and other stakeholders were in attendance at the ceremony, which featured wreath-laying, prayers, and moments of silence in remembrance of fallen heroes.
The Plateau State Government reiterated its commitment to supporting the Armed Forces, veterans, and families of fallen officers, while also calling on citizens to continue to promote peace, unity, and patriotism across the state and the nation at large.
