Police Arraigned Woman for Scalding Pregnant Sister-in-Law in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has arraigned a 20-year-old woman, Jamila Ishaku, before the Chief Magistrate Court 2 for allegedly pouring hot water on her pregnant sister-in-law. The incident occurred on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in Dubeli ward, Yola North Local Government Area, following a heated argument between the two women.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the victim suffered severe burns as a result of the attack. Nguroje condemned the incident, stating that it was unacceptable for individuals to take the law into their own hands and resort to violence to resolve disputes.

The case has sparked outrage in the community, with many calling for justice to be served. The court has yet to deliver a verdict in the case, but the police have assured that they will do everything in their power to ensure that the perpetrator is held accountable for her actions.
