Police arrest 2, recover arms and ammunition; 2 arrested for murders in Kebbi, scores arrested for cultism in Delta

In a major breakthrough, the Nigeria Police Force has arrested two suspects and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from an illegal weapons manufacturing factory in Benue State. The factory, located in Tse Akamabe Area of Kwande LGA, was raided on January 11, 2025, and two suspects, Friday Aduduakambe and Iorwashima Iornyume, were taken into custody.

The police recovered 9 locally fabricated pistols, 1 locally fabricated Ak47 riffle, and numerous other weapons manufacturing tools.

In a separate operation, police operatives in Delta State arrested a notorious cultist, Prosper Akeni, and recovered a stash of guns and ammunition from his apartment. Akeni, a 32-year-old hitman for the eiye confraternity, confessed that the guns belonged to his cult group.

The police also arrested two suspects, Yunusa Haruna and Abubakar Ummar, in Kebbi State for murder. Haruna fatally stabbed his elder brother, Isiyaku Haruna, with a sharp knife, while Ummar stabbed one Mohammed Bala during an argument.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has commended the operatives for their efforts and encouraged the public to remain vigilant and share useful information with the police. This crackdown on crime is a significant step towards restoring sanctity across the country.
