Three suspected kidnappers are currently cooling their heels in Adamawa State police command, a statement by the command’s public relations officer, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje disclosed.
According to the statement, the feat was achieved on 27/02/2021 when the police swooped on the suspects in their various hideouts in Gombi town.
“The police apprehended 3 out of 5 criminal suspects responsible for the kidnapping of Ali Ahmadu and Alhaji Guruza of Antasa and Balhona villages in Gombi Local government Area, sometimes in November, 2020.
” The suspects were apprehended at their various hideouts in Gombi town, following credible information and intense search by the Police and Pulaku vigilante team of Gombi Division,” the statement said.
According to the police, the three suspected kidnappers include; Likita Muhammed (22), a native of Zangra Village, Gombi LGA of Adamawa state, Ibrahim Adamu, (26) a native of Balhona village, Gombi LGA, Adamawa State and Buba Mammadu, (20) a native of Balhona village, Gombi LGA, Adamawa State.
Nguroje said investigation has revealed that the suspects are members of a notorious armed robbery/kidnapping syndicate terrorizing innocent citizens in the central zone of Adamawa and Kwaya kusa of Borno States .
The command noted that the commissioner Police Aliyu Adamu Alhaji, has directed further investigation into the case to bring up more human and material evidences for proper prosecution.
