Police arrest four suspected armed robbers in Adamawa

Adamawa State police command has arrested four suspected armed robbers who have been terrorizing residents of Sangere Futy and parts of Girei Local Government for sometime.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje said the feat followed reports on the activities of the suspected armed robbers by residents of the area.

Nguroje noted that on receipt of the reports, the command swiftly went to action and succeeded in arresting the quartet on 25/11/2020.

According to the PPRO, those arrested are; Mustapha Adamu (21), Suleman Adamu (23), Mudassir Yahuza (22) and Ismail Usman (23) all residents of Sabon Gari Futy, Zango and Saminaka of Girei, Yola North and South local Government areas.

According to Nguroje, the suspects prior to their arrest, attacked several houses in Sangere Futy, Federal housing and Viniklang suburb area of Girei local government and usually rob their victims at gunpoints.

” Since then, the commissioner of police Olugbenga Adeyanju, deployed detectives for immediate investigation and possible arrest of the culprits.

” The police having gone extra mile and successfully apprehended the culprits, recovered laptops, handsets, air conditions, Sim cards of various networks and many valuables,” Nguroje added.

While assuring members of the public its commitment to protecting lives and properties the command enjoins residents to desist from buying used items and called on them to report any suspicious person or group around their neighbourhoods to the nearest Police division or report same through any of the Police Command Control/Emergency numbers: 08089671313, 08107364974
