In a swift response to a reported theft, operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command, attached to the State Intelligence Department (SID), have apprehended two young suspects, Dad Yusuf, 20, and Gibson Husseini, 17, both residents of Upper Luggere, Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area. The duo was arrested for stealing a 100Ah Mikano generator battery from the premises of the LCCN Cathedral, Jimeta.

The arrests were made on June 28, 2025, following credible intelligence. The suspects confessed to committing the crime on June 23, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., targeting the church’s generator battery.
The stolen item, critical to the cathedral’s operations, prompted a thorough investigation by the police to curb such criminal activities in religious institutions.
According to SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Adamawa State Command, the investigation is ongoing to uncover potential accomplices and recover additional stolen items.
“The suspects will face justice upon the conclusion of our investigations,” Nguroje stated, emphasizing the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order.
