Nasarawa State Police Command has paraded 23 suspected criminals in various criminal acts across
the state.
The state Commissioner of Police, Shehu Lawal Batsari stated this while briefing newsmen at Police
command Lafia.
Shehu Lawal Batsari explained that on the 15th of June of this year a notorious armed robbery gang terrorizing Akwanga areas were arrested while
carrying out operation.
According to him, they succeeded in robbing some people and carted away the sum of two hundred thousand naira, motorcycles, television sets among
others.
The Police Commissioner also explained that another gang of six armed robbers
hat another gang of six armed robbers were arrested along Fadamar Bauna Lafia east and items recovered
included one AK 47rifle with two ammunition and five empty shell.
He further explained that the police command in collaboration with its counter part from Ebonyi state
had succeeded in arresting three car snatchers who snatched a sienna space bus at a gun point from Mrs. Ogunyemi Obiageli.
The Police Boss said within the period, the command had apprehended three suspected kidnappers whom
ambushed a Tongyi allied Mining Company vehicle with three occupants.
The police Command also arrested two suspected members of cultism group called Viking who came to the state to initiate others into the cultism.
He said all the three suspects confessed to the commission of the crime and investigation into the case was in progress.
