Adamawa State police command has rescued 8-year-old boy abducted from Adamawa State and taken to Lambata local government of Niger State. The police also arrested two kidnappers of the little boy and recovered N40,000 cash.
A statement by the image maker of the command, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje made available to newsmen, Monday noted that the boy, Jafaru Hamisu was abducted on 1st October, 2021 following which the kidnappers demanded N5 million ransom from the father of the boy, Alhaji Hamisu Sule, a resident of Lafiya in Fufore local government area of the state.

“The Adamawa State Police Command wishes to inform members of the general public that On the 3/10/2021 the command’s operatives attached to State intelligent Bureau (SIB), following timely report received from one Alhaji Hamisu Sule, a resident of Lafiya village, a suburb of Chigari, Fufore LGA that on the 1/10/2021 his 8-year-old son named Jafaru Hamisu was kidnapped and a ransom of N5 million was demanded for his release.
“The operatives of the command swung into action and luckily apprehended
these suspects:-
“1. Junaidu Muhammed (28), a resident of Lambata local government, Niger state and Aliyu Alhaji Aliyu (55), years a resident of Lambata local government area, Niger state.
“Investigation so far reveals that the former came and settled at Chigari as a farmer and suddenly kidnapped the tittle boy to Lambata local government in Niger state and placed him into the hands of the later.
“On the strength of that, the commissioner of Police CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde, commended the officer in charge of intelligence Department of the command and his men for making it difficult for such criminals to escape arrest. He equally calls on members of the general public to continue giving credible, actionable and timely information regarding any person or group of persons with suspicious character around their neighborhood to the police.
“The police boss directs for discreet investigation into the matter and give assurances that the suspects will be prosecuted accordingly,” the statement said.
