Adamawa government on Friday appeal to the people of Mayo Belwa local government area to leave in peace with one another.
Mr. Martins Babale, the deputy governor , made the appeal in a statement made available to newsmen in Yola.
Babale said that government was aware about counter reaction by supporters of various political parties on the conduct of last Saturday’s local council election in the state .
The statement read ” The attention of state government has been drawn to the expression of reactions and counter reactions by supporters of various political parties.
” following the announcement of results for Bajama, Gorobi and Gengle wards in Mayo Belwa area.
” The attitude is threatening the peaceful co- existence among the people of the area and the state at large.” Babale said.
He said government was not happy about the development and appeal for calm and understanding among the supporters of the parties.
He said that government on in it’s part would ensure to protect any positive interest and rights as provided in the electoral act.
He called on all political parties candidates to sheathe their swords and not to take the law into their hands.
