President Buhari appoints Engr. Saidu as ELRA Chairman

President Muhammadu has appointed Adamawa born Agriculture Engineer, Saidu Njidda, FNSE, mni as the Chairman Equipment Leasing Registration Authority (ELRA).

The irrigation Engineer backed both academic and experience to hold the newly established body inaugurated by the Hon. Minister for Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed.

The Body was inaugurated on Friday, 19th May 2023 and the Minister highlighted the importance of leasing, to the development of the Nigerian economy.

She expressed the need of a continue sanitization by stakeholders that ELRA will further boost productivity, optimisation and growth of the economy

She said that Equipment Leasing Registration Authority (ELRA) is a public private partnership arrangement, set up by the Equipment Leasing Act 2015, to enhance its developmental objective.

ELRA under the leadership of Engineer Saidu will be function to Register lease agreements & Lessors ans Determine eligibility of persons & requirements

Other functions of ELRA is to Register and investigate incidence of default, to Establish and maintain register of persons entitled to carry on business
of leasing and to Undertake other activities to give effects to the Act and other functions conferred by the Act.

The governing board of the Authority is chaired by Engr. Saidu Njidda, an Individual Member of ELAN, Fellow institute of Director,Fellow Nigerian institution of Agricultural Engineers

Saidu is Alumni of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Rivers State University of Science & Tech. Port Harcourt and National Institute for Information Technology and the National Institute- Kuru, Jos.
