President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Barrister Ismaeel Ahmed as the Executive Chairman of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGi), a pivotal move to advance Nigeria’s transition to affordable and sustainable energy solutions.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Abuja in 2005 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006
Barr. Ahmed, 45, will spearhead the PCNGi, a core component of the Tinubu administration’s palliative intervention program aimed at cushioning the impact of fuel subsidy removal.
The initiative focuses on promoting compressed natural gas (CNG) as a cheaper, cleaner alternative to traditional fuels, offering relief to Nigerians grappling with rising energy costs.
A seasoned legal and diplomatic expert, Ahmed brings a wealth of experience to the role. He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Abuja in 2005 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006.
Furthering his education, he earned a master’s degree in International Relations, Communications, and Diplomacy from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, in 2008.
Ahmed previously served as Senior Special Assistant to former President Muhammadu Buhari on the National Social Investment Program, where he demonstrated a commitment to impactful governance and public welfare.
