Press Statement: YOWICAN replies Adamawa Muslims Council over ADSU VC Maladministration against Muslims

Re: A LETTER FROM MUSLIM COUNCIL OF ADAMAWA STATE TO THE VC ADAMAWA STATE UNIVERSITY (ADSU) MUBI.

Our attention was drawn to the letter with the above caption written by you to the Vice Chancellor of Adamawa State University.

We wouldn’t have bothered to reply you if your letter was to appreciate a woman of substance who restored the glory of a fallen institution. You forgot completely how the Adamawa State University (ADSU) was, before the emergence of Prof Kaletapwa Farauta, and through the grace of God she was able to do what men couldn’t do.
It will be important to draw your attention to the fact your accusation is unfounded, baseless and a smack of ignorance; the reason is that you left institutions that you ought to call to order regards a glaring religious imbalance in their administrations, namely:
a) Federal University of Technology, Yola (FUTY) that religious bigots like u succeeded in renaming it Modibbo Adama University, not minding the religious and ethnic diversity of our dear state.
b) Federal College of Education, Yola (FCE) Yola
c) College for Legal Studies, Yola.
Your silence over these three (3) institutions that has almost turned them into a Muslim Institutions, leaves more to be desired of a religious leader of ur caliber, as we can’t remember when a Christian was allowed to head any of them. Did we complain or ever say anything?
We understand your motive; that’s to sow a seed of discord amongst the peace loving people of Adamawa State, despite the efforts of terrorists to break our unity, which didn’t succeed. We want to say to u, that u are only trying to do the impossible. Certainly we never regarded your letter as the voice of Muslims in the State but a voice of certain persons who enjoyed and benefited when the University was in tatters and wasting. We can bear witness that the Muslims of Adamawa State appreciate this amazon; & a tireless workaholic lady of substance who is making the University once more a citadel of pride for the citizens of the State.
We the Christian Youths in the State appreciate the wisdom of His Excellency, Rt. Honourable Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who despite pressures from bigots like u, chose her, having seen her footprint already in turning the once comatose, sinking and about to be buried Institution into a peaceful, purposeful & vibrant University now competing amongst other well known Universities in Nigeria. Once again ‘thank you’ Your Excellency for this wisdom. We pray that God should keep guiding you as you steer the State into the next level of development, the glimpses which everyone in the state is testifying.
And to you, we see this approach as childish, misdirected and ill motivated. Let’s join hands with the Government to move this State forward please.
