The Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, presented the Staff of Office to Kumu Gombi, His Royal Majesty, Aggrey B. Ali, marking the official coronation of the new chiefdom.

The governor expressed his joy and fulfillment at the occasion, highlighting the significance of the Gombi Chiefdom as a symbol of unity, compromise, and consensus among the various ethnic groups in the area, including the Ga’anda, Lala, Bura, Hona, Ngwaba, and Fulani people.
The creation of the Gombi Chiefdom is a testament to the Adamawa spirit, which emphasizes the importance of coming together regardless of tribal, religious, or other narrow sentiments.
Prioritize issues of peace and security, which are the foundations of any meaningful development
Governor Fintiri noted that the new chiefdom is endowed with huge potentials for solid minerals extraction, agricultural production, industrial growth, and tourism, and that the Gombi people are highly educated and industrious.
The governor congratulated His Royal Majesty, Mr. Aggrey B. Ali, on his appointment as the first Kumu Gombi, praising his administrative acumen and managerial skills. He called on the Kumu Gombi to prioritize issues of peace and security, which are the foundations of any meaningful development. The governor also emphasized the need to efficiently use the District Heads and Village Heads in providing intelligence and curbing activities of bandits and criminals.
Furthermore, Governor Fintiri reminded the people of Gombi that the ban on cutting trees for charcoal production and illegal mining is still firmly in place, and urged all traditional rulers and security agencies to ensure that those who violate this ban are apprehended and prosecuted. He encouraged all sons and daughters of Gombi to support the Kumu Gombi and the chiefdom towards making it a model of peace, harmony, solidarity, progress, and development.

The governor concluded by stating that Adamawa State is working and is on the right trajectory towards a glorious destination, with the new Chiefdoms and Emirates playing a key role in this journey. He expressed his confidence that by the grace of God, no one and nothing will deter the state from achieving its goals.
