Barrister Sam Adda, Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Taraba has attributed prison’s congestion to reckless issuance of reckless remand warrants by area and magistrate courts in the state.
Adda made the remarks on Thursday while speaking to some selected journalists in his office in Jalingo.
He said that such attitudes had caused detention of people without first appearance in court, which he tagged as undesirable.
He however, said that the Taraba administration of criminal Justice system which had already passed the second reading at the state house of assembly would address most of the unwholesome practices perpetrated by judges in the state.
He said that Gov. Darius Ishaku of Taraba was passion about reforming the Justice system in the state that can give Justice to the’common man’.
He also eulogies the governor for implementing laws that were enacted by the state legislators from 2015 till date.
The attorney general also assured the public that his tenure would witness a robust administration of Justice in the state.
He also promised to use resourses available to refurbish courts which would be convenient for both lawyers and littigans
