Prof Rashid, seasoned academician Chair a 6 Man committee to review the activities of FCET Bichi

The Honourable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu has inaugurated a six Man Visitation Panel to Federal College of Education, Bichi.

The panel is a six Man committee has a seasoned academician, Professor Rashid Aderionye as the Chairman of the panel with notable men across the country as member of the committee.

Rashid who has vast knowledge in the administration of higher learning institutions said the essence of the panel is not to watch hunt anybody but to bring about improvement in the quality of the country’s educational system.

Other members who formed part of the panel have the Adamawa former ALGON chairman, Honourable Barr Aliyu Wakili Boya, Hajiya Talatu Nasir (Katsina),Arc Abubakar Abba Sanusi (Borno), Prof Aliyu Dauda (Bauchi) and Modey Godwin Abayomi who serves as the panel secretary from Federal Ministry of Education (FME)

You would recalled that the presidential committee has on the 12th of April, 2021 inaugurated visitation panels to all Federal Polytechnics and Federal Colleges of Education across the country and they would be sitting as from Thursday 29th of April to 10thJune, 2021 at the Board Room of the College.

The visitation panel to FCET Bichi, Kano State through its Secretary, Modey Godwin Abayomi ‘Call for Memoranda’ letter, explained that the institution review exercise is part of a nationwide review of all federal colleges of education and polytechnics within the past 10 years, that is 2011-2015 and 2016-2020.

To carry out the review at the FCE Bichi Modey Abayomi requested the community in Bichi, all stakeholders in education and the general public to submit memoranda under nine terms of reference.

Some of the terms of reference, according to the Call for Memoranda obtained by newsmen on Thursday, include “Examine the financial management of the institution over the recommended period and determine whether it is in compliance with appropriate regulations, and Investigate the application of funds, particularly the special grants and loans meant for particular projects.”

Other terms of reference of the investigation panel include, “Examine all academic programmes, policies and practices as well as the total academic and physical development, performance and direction of the institution and advise as to whether the desired targets have been met.”

The visitation panel is also expected to study the management structure and performance of the institution, including fiscal, administrative, personnel and welfare policies and advise on ways to cut cost.

The panel requests all those who will submit memoranda to communicate with the panel secretary at the Panel Secretariat at the FCE Bichi on or before May 4, 2021
