PROMOTE WHAT UNITES THAN WHAT DIVIDES US AS HUMANS – REV. HAYAB

In the spirit of Sallah and brotherhood, the Global peace Foundation Nigeria (GPFN) has hosted the Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria
to a Lunch in Kaduna.

The aim of the get-together was to further cement the relationship between the Movement and the Foundation and to emphasize the need for Christians
and Muslims in the society to realise that they are all members of ‘One Family under God’.

Speaking during the gathering, held on Friday 08/07/2016 in Kaduna, the Northern Coordinator, Global Peace Foundation Nigeria, Rev. John Joseph
Hayab said emphasized the need for all mankind to promote what unites than what divides them irrespective of religious or ethnic differences for a
peaceful society.

He called on members of the movement to always unite as one in pursuing their cause, noting that, it is the only way they can achieve the best result.

“Our Country today needs unity, unless and until we emphasize on it and pick it as a challenge, we will continue to suffer as a people” Hayab said.

A statement signed by the Media and Communication Officer of Global Peace Foundation Nigeria, Richard Pius Garba in Kaduna said, Rev. Hayab while sighting the Holy Book of 1 John chapter 4 verse 20, urged all mankind to show love to their fellow neighbours so as
to attract the favour of God in their lives.
The Northern Coordinator who also use the opportunity to congratulate Muslims for a successful Ramadan period prayed God to accept their sacrifice and challenged them not to be deterred in praying for the country Nigeria and its leaders.

Earlier, the leader of the group, Dr. Shuaibu Musa , commended the foresight of Global Peace Foundation
in promoting peaceful and harmonious co-existence between followers of different faiths, explaining that,
they also organises series of activities, especially during festivities to bring followers of different beliefs to share ideas and bridge the gap between them.

He pointed out that God wanted humans to understand and appreciate each other by creating us with different culture and religious believe, hence, a change in attitude by all.

Also commenting, a major stakeholder of the Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Abdulmumin Giwa , explained that the forum drew its
membership from the Shiite Sect studying in different Institutions of higher learning with the aim of uniting
and promoting brotherliness amongst them and members of other faiths.
