A tanker explosion at the PZ roundabout vicinity in Yola North local government the capital city of Adamawa State has led to huge traffic gridlock and causing a massive inferno in the early hours of Monday.
Our correspondents who were at the scene of the accident reported that it occurred at around 7:00 am to 8:00 am which caused a fire outbreak that consumed the nearby makeshift shops and other valuables.
He added that firefighters from many organizations were seen putting heads together to stop the raging inferno which has destroyed the diesel tanker.
Our efforts to find out the cause of the incident from authorities and whether lives were lost prove abortive as all efforts by firefighters, policemen, and men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) are geared towards addressing the fire caused by the accident.
But an eyewitness who was riding a tricycle behind the tanker said the accident occurred when the tanker driver was about to take round the corner at the roundabout but the container separated from the main trunk.
Some victims who lost their kiosks interviewed by Sahel reporters appealed for the government to come to their aids as all their sources of livelihood have been burnt down to ashes.
As of the time of filling in this report, all activities along the PZ roundabout have been stabilized.
