A House of Representatives (HoR) Lawmaker representing the Federal Constituency of Mubi South, Mubi North, and Maiha in the green chambers of the national assembly, Hon Jafar Abubakar Magaji, said Nigeria is bigger than the question, demands by some Youth to protest against hunger and issues regarding governance.
The Lawmaker who considers himself a Youth said the national protest scheduled for August 1st cannot solve the country’s problem, nor is it going to be the answer to questions that the country has been facing for many years.
He called on Nigerian Youth to sheath their protest swords and tow the path of discussions suggesting that the country can be better managed.
Jafar Said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the helms of affairs, has started well and needs the support of everyone to fix the nation’s critical infrastructure, policies, regional, health, education, and many problems surrounding the aspects of governance.
He extolled Tinubu’s intellectual capacity, physical fitness and skills capabilities, experience, and requisite knowledge in managing demands being clamored by interest groups, people, and even individual(s).
He envisaged that the protest may bring untold hardship and calamity that will result in unwanted crisis.
Jafar gave examples of countries like South Sudan, Egypt, Lybia, Kenya, and Ghana that demand a peaceful protest by people who think it is their right to end up bloody, and today, these countries are suffering from devastating consequences.
Jafar appealed to Nigerian Youth and leaders of thought, senior citizens, and stakeholders of various political parties to unite for the common good of the nation as the national protest is not the best way to go in tackling insecurity, hunger,r, and other issues of national concern raised by the protesters.
He called on his constituents, especially the Youth, to see this as a clarion call to boycott and never to join in the scheduled protest as security agencies have reported that there were saboteurs of the plan and foreigners had infiltrated the gang up.
Jafar revealed that those sabotaging the movement are enemies of the country who may unleash mayhem using their name as Nigerian and any partaker may be a victim.
He advised the youth from his constituency to stay away from the supposed notable protest intended to be peaceful, but hijackers from outside the shores of Nigeria have hijacked it against the good intentions of airing their grievances.
He said is lending his voice to stressed the call made few days ago by the Adamawa State officials of the All Progressives Congress, APC, of abstaining the coming protest to his constituents.
