Public Hearing: Bill for the establishment of FCE Fufore sets for 3rd reading

The Federal college of Education Fufore (Technical) will soon be a reality as a Bill for its establishment is headed for third reading.

The Bill sponsored Man, Barr (Hon) Aliyu Wakili Boya has yet in a resounding assurance rekindled the sons and Daughters of Adamawa State during a public hearing in Abuja that is representation stance for the people of Fufore/Song Federal Constituency area of Adamawa State must yield a positive result.

The public hearing which was attended by prominent sons and Daughters of Fufore/Song Federal Constituency and gave their contribution and the need the tertiary institutions be established in Fufore.

A senior Stakeholder, Alhaji Bello Abubakar Malibu who is from Fufore Local Government area, LGA, praised Aliyu for the thoughtful insight to pursue the establishment of the institution in Fufore.

According to Bello Fufore is one of the oldest and largest LGA in Adamawa State but which has a deficits in the area of higher institution of learning and prayed that their dream of having the institution will see the light of the day.

He said the bill has come Handy and at the right time for the fact that the area has been neglected in the area of Education and they’re looking forward the establishment.

He is confidence when Federal college of Education Fufore establish it will address inequalities and promote healthy competition mong young Nigerians.

Prof Saad Tahir while lending his voice to the committee on Federal college of Education during the public hearing stated that human development indices is quite worrisome in Nigeria.

The tertiary institution will sure be a corner Stone of human development as it’s known that Education is the bed rock of all kinds of development.

A Representative of African Business Roundtables in the Implementation committee of the Mambila HEPP 3050MW power project, Dr Usman Bappa Abdulkadir FCMsp, Magajin Rafin Gashaka gave a statistical view that 87% of the poverty burden of Nigeria, with Lagos state having 10% incidence as the lowest level of the table, Zamfara state is leading the chat with 90% and most of the states in the North east are of 70% average a most deserving reason for Fufore an institution of higher learning.

He worried that Northern Nigerian States accounts for these negative indices of human development, and one of the efforts to address the short falls was the establishment of NEDC and other measures by the Federal Governments And development partners.

Bello who presented a paper during the public hearing said Without Investment in Education and Health leaders will unwittingly destroy human capital capacity, aggravate social inequality and shut down the door to peace.

“With Modibbo Adama University of technology Yola now a conventional University, where social science, humanities and arts are competing with the science and technology over little resources;there’s therefore an urgent need to get a substitute training institute for the training program with full budget strictly for technical education.

“I therefore as a Doctoral Fellow of International Institutes of Management and Manpower Development support and recommend the establishment of the Federal College of Education Fofure to accelerate economic development, youth empowerment and job creation. ” Bello said

Boya while responding to interviews by media men reiterated his commitment to continue serving the people of Fufore and song with uttermost Sense of responsibility as the bill will soon be ready for third reading in the floor of the house.
