Queen Elizabeth of England has tested positive for Covid, Buckingham Palace announced on Sunday.

According to the palace, the monarch is experiencing “mild cold-like symptoms” but is expected to continue “light duties” at Windsor over the coming week.

“She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines,” the palace statement added.

The Queen, 95, is said to have been in contact with her eldest son and heir, the Prince of Wales, who tested positive last week.

Recently, a number of people have tested positive at Windsor Castle, where the Queen resides.

The Queen, on 6th of February became the UK’s longest reigning monarch, reaching her Platinum Jubilee of 70 years.

Charles met the Queen two days before she tested positive for the virus.

Prince Charles’s wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, tested positive for the virus last week, days after her husband.

That was the first time the duchess had caught Covid, and the second time for Prince Charles.
