As the Islamic Holy Month of Ramadan begins, Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has extended warm congratulations to Muslims in the state and across the globe, urging them to seize the sacred period for spiritual renewal, unity, and peacebuilding. In a heartfelt message delivered on Saturday, Governor Fintiri emphasized the significance of Ramadan as a cornerstone of Islam that fosters humility, devotion, and resilience among the faithful.
Highlighting the essence of the month-long fast, during which Muslims abstain from food and drink between sunrise and sunset, Fintiri described Ramadan as a divine opportunity for believers to deepen their worship of Allah. “Ramadan humbles us and offers another chance to rededicate ourselves to the teachings of the Holy Quran as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW),” he said.
Amid heightened concerns over insecurity in parts of Nigeria, Governor Fintiri called for heightened vigilance in places of worship across Adamawa State. “While the government has put structures in place to ensure the safety of residents, I urge everyone to remain vigilant,” he cautioned, underscoring the need for collective responsibility in safeguarding communities during this sacred time.

The Governor also addressed the broader national context, lamenting the recent escalation of division and insecurity. Fintiri encouraged Muslims to use Ramadan as a period of spiritual cleansing and healing, urging them to pray fervently for the peace of Adamawa State and Nigeria at large. “As we seek the face of Allah in this holy month, let us hold dear the lessons of the Holy Prophet and pray earnestly for peace in our country,” he said.

All that is required is love for one another and a commitment to the unity of our country,” he concluded.
