A recent write-up in a media outfit “Desert Herald “desparaging the person of the Adamawa State SSG has surfaced of recent.While the indefatigable SSG seems not perturbed to respond to such malicious,politically motivated smear campaign of calumny,it is important to set the records straight.
From the beginning to the end of the publication,it is riddled with hatred, expletives,name calling and a concious effort to smear the personality of the SSG.
The SSG is well known for his dogged and fixated mindset of assisting the ATM Governor in bringing unrivalled development and growth to Adamawa State and its people.The emergence of a firm character with a decisive approach to governance has come with so much threat to his detractors,thus such malicious publications are not surprising.
The new SSG has now become a stumbling block to the selfish aspiration of a cabal that have found an ally in a faceless, unnamed reporter in the “Desert Harald”in parading fake news and hate speech.
Anyone and indeed everyone who knows the SSG knows he is a man of character,intergrity dedication and uprightness.
The unfortunate event in Yola North being twisted in the said publication is a deliberate effort at misleading people, using a fabricated story of Hajiya Larai as a curtain to hide behind. This smacks of a cowardly venture.
Deriding any woman based on her gender or marital status is demeaning and unacceptable under any guise whatsoever in this 21st century.
We went on a fact finding mission which unraveled so much about the Chief Editor of Desert Herald.
At the inception of the new Government in Adamawa state, it was gathered that frantic moves were made by the “Desert Herald”media outfit to ouster state owned outfits like The Scope, thereby allowing the Desert Herald absolute monopoly of the media for the state Government but The SSG would have none of such and insisted that the state run outfit must be allowed to function at full capacity thus disappointing the Desert Herald that ever since,have been hell bent to tarnish the image of the SSG.
It is therrfore,not surprising that such unfounded story riddled with gramatic errors,wrong spellings, wrong use of terms and rift with contradictions, has emerged in the “Desert Herald”
Journalism is a most noble profession and certainly The Nigeria Union of Journalists and indeed its Adamawa Council would frown at such disappointing standard of reportage that is clearly targetted at character assassination.Every true, qualified journalist worth his onion wouldn’t stoop so low.The Pen is mighty…and indeed noble but definitely not for mercantile aquisition.
It is worth noting that the SSG is a stickler for truth, justice,the rule of law, professionalism and non interference at all levels of Government and would never condescend to dictate to any Local Government Chairman, how to run his office.
The report in the publication that the Yola North Council’s Chairman relinquished his office to Hajiya Larai due to her closeness to the SSG is laughable, falacious and absolutely misleading.
The content and intent of the publication is to peddlle fake news and hate speech against the person of the SSG for refusing to sabotage Adamawa state interest in the interest of an infinitesimal few.The SSG remains resolutely dogged that Adamawa State is not for sale to any cabal and only the expectations of its people would take preeminence.
Ironically, the nameless writter reports that people in Yola North testify that the SSG is…”a true and hardworking technocrat”and also described the SSG as ” …taciturn,calm,calculated and business minded”so why defame such an outstanding personality for peanuts?
