Today, being 13th of February, 2021, marks the 45th anniversary of the assassination of late General Murtala Ramat Muhammed, GCFR; one of the saddest national events in the history of our country.
It also marks the anniversary of the ascension of Olusegun Obasanjo to power as Head of State C-in-C of Nigerian Armed Forces, charting a new direction in our journey of nationhood. I heartily condole the family of the late Head of State, condole President Olusegun Obasanjo and indeed condole all Nigerians on the huge irreparable national loss of certainly a courageous leader who founded Nigeria’s concentric national power circle, and also commend President Obasanjo for his indefatigable efforts in sustaining the legacy of the Nigerian State and keeping her flag flying high against all odds.
I pray that the Almighty God shall repose the soul of the fallen national hero and prolong the life of President Obasanjo in good health for continuous service to the fatherland and humanity as a whole. Amen.
