Renowned Broadcast Journalist, Jacob Haruna Zango, Laid to Rest

Kaduna veteran Journalist, Jacob Zango, laid to rest

The late Jacob Haruna Zango, a respected broadcast journalist, was laid to rest in his hometown of Abuyab, Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on Friday. Zango, a staff member of the Kaduna State Media Corporation, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, after a brief illness at the Kafanchan General Hospital.

Friends, family, media practitioners, and well-wishers gathered at Abuyab village to pay their last respects to the late media guru. The burial rites included a service of songs held in Kaduna on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

At the funeral service, Comrade Asma’u Yawo Halilu, Chairperson of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna chapter, thanked God for Zango’s life and his dedication to his work.

Late Jacob Zango was born on April 17, 1968,

She expressed gratitude to the council members for their solidarity and encouraged journalists in the state to continue working together as a family. Halilu prayed for the repose of Zango’s soul and for God to grant his family, relatives, community, and colleagues the strength to bear the loss.

Officiating priest, Pastor Makurvet Dawuda, reminded the mourners to remember life after death and to live in peace with one another.

Late Jacob Zango was born on April 17, 1968, to the family of late Mr. and Mrs. Zango Bwayin Kura in Abuyab, Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
