Reps Member condemns Boko Haram latest attack on Adamawa community

The Member representing Gombi/ Hong Federal Constituency and Chairman, Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives,Rt. Hon.( Dr.) Yusuf Buba Yakub,this evening received with utmost shock and concern the news of a fresh insurgent attack on a part of his Constituency.

He said in a statement that information available to him,Kwapre village,a community in Garaha Ward of Hong Local Government Area, Friday was attacked by suspected Boko Haram insurgents, who came in their numbers ,killed and maimed unsuspecting community dwellers,destroyed homes and property and abducted some people.

He condemned in very strong terms this latest attack on the innocent and peace- loving people of Kwapre community as another senseless and cruel act of cowardice on a community that is renowned for peace,industry and serenity. While sympathising with all those who have lost loved ones or suffered any form of loss and harm in this round of senseless attacks, purportedly carried out by the outlawed Boko Haram sect, Buba reiterates his unwavering faith in the victory of good over evil and calls on the people to remain calm and vigilant in the face of the present attack.

While describing the current insurgent attack as the last flame of a dying fire,the lawmaker also calls on the people not to lose faith in the ability of Government and the law- enforcement agencies to protect them at all times. He also calls on Government and all law- enforcement agencies to ensure that Kwapre community and,indeed,all parts of the Constituency are protected from any further attacks.

The Honourable Member ,who expressed hope that all those that were abducted during the attack, would soon be rescued and reunited with their families,uses this occasion to pray for the speedy recovery of those who suffered physical hurts in the attack.
