The Nigerian Bar Association ,Funtua Branch has threatened to sue the Department of State Security Service (DSS) over what it termed , “unfounded allegation” of conspiracy leveled against the Branch by the State Director of Security (DSS) ,Katsina State.
The NBA also gave a 14-day ultimatum to retract the defamatory words leveled against the Funtua branch by the State Director of DSS in an apology letter addressed to the Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, Funtua Branch or be prepared to meet the Association in the Court of Law to proof/justify the said allegations.
According to a letter signed by B.F Abdullahi Esq. ,Chairman of NBA Funtua Branch ,Katsina State: “The attention of the Nigerian Bar Association Funtua Branch has been drawn to an unsubstantiated weighty allegation of conspiracy to procure what was referred to as ‘mischievous’ court order of arrest on the Staff of the Service at Funtua office and ‘obvious’ exploitation of legal system against the Nigerian Bar Association, Funtua Branch, made by the Director of DSS Katsina ,in a letter of Complaint dated the 19” day of August,2020 and signed on his behalf by one H.A Al-Sadiq.
“We are saddened by the said unfounded allegation and defamatory words uttered by the Service against Nigerian Bar Association, Funtua Branch, whose stands is the promotion of the Rule of Law, without shred of evidence to support the assertion.
“Its worthy of note that Nigerian Bar Association is not a party to the case No: SMC/FT/750/2020 referred to in the said letter of complaint and has no involvement whether directly or indirectly.”

DEFAMATION AND FALSE ALLEGATION OF CONSPIRACY AGAINST NIGERIAN BAR ASSOCIATION, FUNTUA BRANCH BY DIRECTOR OF SECURITY KATSINA,KATSINA STATE
The above subject matter refers.
The attention of the Nigerian Bar Association Funtua Branch has been drawn to an unsubstantiated weighty allegation of conspiracy to procure what was referred to as ‘mischievous’ court order of arrest on the Staff of the Service at Funtua office and ‘obvious’ exploitation of legal system against the
Nigerian Bar Association, Funtua Branch, made by the Director of DSS Katsina ,in a letter of Complaint dated the 19″ day of August,2020 and signed on his behalf by one H.A Al-Sadiq.

within 14 days after receipt of this letter, demanded for a written retraction of the defamatory words complained of, the unfounded allegation of conspiracy leveled against the Branch by the State Director of Security,( DSS) ,Katsina State and apology to be addressed to the Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, Funtua Branch or be prepared to meet the Association in the Court of Law to proof/justify the said allegations.
