Adamawa Football United is revealed to have embroiled in Financial scandals involving the Chairman, Mr Emmanuel Zira who is currently facing removal threats from the Honourable commissioner of Youths and Sports,Alhaji Sanusi Farouk Jauro.
The Association which is under the Ministry of Youths and sport checks by TG NEWS revealed that 3.5 million naira under false demand that suppose to be paid to the account of Nigeria football Federation (NFF) was said to have been paid to the personal account of the chairman,Emmanuel Zira.
Zira and Jauro were said to have enmeshed into serious fracas making the chairman faces threats of removal by the commissioner.
A senior civil servant in the Ministry who wants to be privy to the information said Zira is also being accused of changing signatories to the account of the state’s football club.
He said what is happening between the two is more of power show as Farouk vowed to removed Zira for insubordination of the highest order,disloyal to duties and not seeking approvals through him before taking any decision knowing the fact that the association is under his ministry.
Sources told TG NEWS and Hon Yunusa been quoted to have said: ” It is my ministry that gave him the employment,I signed his appointment letter on acting capacity and I don’t see a reason to work with someone that will implicate our government with fraudulent attitudes”
Responding to the allegations, Zira on a telephone chat spoke to our correspondent and refuted that whatever is happening is base on the directives he always receives from the Executive Governor.
According to him,Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who is the Executive Governor of the state has mandated him to change the signatories to the accounts of the club to enable it run effectively and successfully on issues pertaining administration.
“Which one is my crime? Where do I go wrong? Won’t I comply with my Boss directives? Look We are out to sanitise that place as professionals that is what some of them they don’t like.
“I have been using my personal money to run things for the club and you know money can never get to you from the sky. A process was followed for the 3.5 million naira is talking about got to me.
” Adamawa United have been relegated and Adamawa Queens have also been relegated,wanting to go for competition but no money to facilitate that, I was asked to raise a memo that can lobby the two clubs out of relegation from their relevant authorities and did that in the interest of the two clubs.
“The purpose was achieved and the money was judiciously used for what it was meant for,the two teams are out of relegation where is my offence? It’s unfortunate that the place is being mismanaged, squandering the little resources with nothing to show for it.” Zira said
Jauro is believed to be one of the Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri close political ally who stakes in his neck for him in all his political journeys.
Investigation revealed that Jauro and Fintiri are best of friends who the later addresses the former as “Major”, referring him Majority Leader while they were state lawmakers of Toungo and Madagali respectively.
The close relationship of the Governor and Sanusi is suggesting that he can do anything and get away with it without giving it a second thought.
Emmanuel Zira who was said to have become the chairman through another close friend of the Governor, one Steven Maduwa is now a power of supremacy being played in the state who will decide the fate of Zira to remain a substantive Chairman not on active capacity.
