The pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Malam Nuhu Ribadu has expressed deep shock over the death of Hajiya Khadija Aliyu Mustapha, wife of the immediate past Lamido of Adamawa, late Aliyu Mustapha.
The late matriarch died on Monday after a protracted illness in Abuja.
Family sources said Khadija Aliyu Mustapha who is a mother-in-law to former Nigeria’s Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, was over 90 years old before she passed to the great beyond.
While condoling Lamido of Adamawa HRH. Muhammadu Aliyu Barkindo Mustapha, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Adamawa Emirate Council and the good people of Adamawa State, Ribadu said the state will sorely missed her wisdom, and motherly comportment.
He noted that the late matriarch is a dotting mother who has spent her entire life in the service of Allah and humanity which she discharged with passion.
He prayed Allah to grant the deceased matriarch eternal rest while urging her close relatives, children and grand children to accept her demise with grace and total submission to Allah.
” I received the news of the death of the matriarch with a deep sense of shock but total submission to the will of Allah who gives and takes life when he deems fit.
” Her demise is not only a loss to her immediate family but a great loss to all of us her children who were impacted by her motherly tutelage and compassion while growing up.
” I wish to use this medium to condole with the Lamido of Adamawa, Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, the Adamawa Emirate Council, the former vice president Atiku Abubakar, my friend Abubakar Aliyu Mustapha, Rukayya Atiku Abubakar and the good people of Adamawa over her death. May her soul rest in perfect peace,” Ribadu said.
