The pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Malam Nuhu Ribadu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Alhaji Abubakar Goni Mujeli the traditional title holder of Tambarin Adamawa, in Adamawa emirate.
Tambari, a renowned businessman and philanthropist died on Wednesday at the age of 61 in Abuja. He is survived by one wife, an aged mother and seven children.
While commiserating with the Adamawa emirate council, family members and the good people of Adamawa State, Ribadu said the death of Tambari is a huge loss to Adamawa State in view of the immense contributions he has been giving towards building a peaceful and virile society.
He said he received the death of Tambari with shock and a deep sense of personal loss because of the strong ties and camaraderie that was build between him and the deceased over the years.
While eulogising Tambari’s life and times, Ribadu said the deceased is kind hearted, humble, humane and magnanimous.
He noted that Tambari is a man of the people who has made tremendous sacrifices in building human capital and the society in general through philanthropy and other communal interventions.
Ribadu noted that Tambari is a down to earth fellow with a heart of gold who has left an enduring legacy that have outlived him.
“Tambari is a brother, a compatriot who has maintained an unparalleled camaraderie with me. He is a trusted ally and a reliable friend who has been with me through thick and thin.
“Our relationship has been on a positive trajectory since we crossed path at Yelwa secondary school, presently, Aliyu Mustapha College, Yola dating back several decades.
“Tambari is a man who has paid his dues in service to creator and humanity. I feel deeply pained beyond expression by the death of this gentleman and quintessential philanthropist.
“I take solace in the fact that Tambari is a man whose life is a study in piety, faith and dedication who bequeathed an enduring legacy. May Allah accept his soul and grants him Jannatul Firdaus,” Ribadu said.
