The Adamawa state wing of Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) is now seen a citadel of true Leadership with effective representation to the entirety of its members. This is owing to the fact that Comrade Rodney S Nathan is holding the helms of the union’s affairs.
Nathan a thorough breed Educationists whose passion for teaching turned him a radical Unionist that do not support Government at all levels to treat education with laxity but to give it all the attention it deserves, thriving above other sectors because that is the beginning of economy life.
Rodney on resumption into office 12th July, 2016 began to look on the state’s Union in an inward perception in order to invigorate life to every Teacher to understand their worth as first class people that ought to be given special treatment with honour in the society. He go beyond Union welfarism of their salaries and emoluments, promotions and prompt payment of salaries to human development,training and retraining of Union members on various field. Rodney herpes and hammers additional qualification to be acquired to all wishful members for them to give quality education to Adamawa state pupils.
Innovative Rodney in his wisdom to bring direct impact of his leadership style to Union members, he introduced meetings with teachers at the grassroots,a recorded achievement that has never being done in the history of State’s Unions and became first of its kind in the history of NUT in Nigeria and other sister unions or organizations.
Nathan also grow up the generated internal revenue of the union by stepping up with business concepts of building business plaza and a filling station in Girei, a next door LGA serving as the gateway to Jimeta, the State’s administrative capital. It innovation has jacked up the Union IGR in unprecedented way.
In two years and half of his stewardship, both local and international recognition in form of awards to encourage him carry on with the Masses focused leadership of the Union were given to him. Rodney a classify grassroots Man is being seen as another national unionist that the NUT in Adamawa state can never be his last area of service to humanity but a step he climbed to step him up to service beyond his immediate Union (NUT).
These and many more reasons Nathan is seen as a discovered golden fish who in depth wisdom of leading the NUT has been accredited to him a man comrade, a direct replicate of servant with the servitude abilities to change the glory of the Union from bad to good.
