The Save lives foundation, an NGO on Monday embarked on a one-day free medical outreach to Ganye local government area in Adamawa.

the foundation took assorted drugs for the outreach, as many residents of ganye community stormed the venue of the free medical care.
Miss Tanso Maken, state coordinator of the foundation in Adamawa said that the foundation was out to address health challenges faced by women and children.
Maken, who said that the programe was sponsored by the rotary international also that the foundation had just commenced its free medial outreach in Adamawa.
She expressed satisfaction with the turn out of the people, adding that the foundation would improve on the number of doctors for larger coverage in its subsequent outings.
She sought the collaboration of the state government to sustain the programme as well as to reach out to more people.
“Save lives foundation was establish to cater for health challenges of indigent communities and its sponsored by the rotary international.
“We have been carrying out medical outreaches in other parts of the country but this is the first time that Adamawa state will benefit.
“We have decided to launch our pogramme here in Ganye local government and it is our desire to carry out more of this outreaches.
“We are therefore, calling on the state government to collaborate with us to sustain it and to reach out to as many communities as possible in the state.
“You can see that the turn out is quite impressive as about 200 people have been attended to.
“Our worry is that some of the beneficiaries are not actually sick but have come to receive medicines for future use and I think that is wrong.
“Though from our observation to day, more people are suffering from ulcer, and high blood pleasure and malaria.
One of the beneficiaries Alhaji Ibrahim Garpete who spoke to NAN said that the gesture was first of its kind in the community.
Garpete, a community leader commended the foundation for reaching out to people who were in dire needs for medical attention.
He urged othe NGOs to emulate the gesture, adding that humanitarian services were more rewarding.
Also speaking was Mrs Gladys Yusuf, who commended the orgaisation for the medical assistance.
Yusuf said that most people in the community pass through a lot of vigour I different hospitals without getting satisfactory medical diagnosis.
She expressed happiness with the quality of drugs given to her freely, calling on other well meaning Nigerians to support the couse.
