The conventional and online media, the social media alike has this weekend enmeshed with wailings mourning the death of a strong political figure in Nigeria, Senator Aishatu Jummmai Alhassan, who represented the Northern Senatorial District of Taraba State later became the Minister of Women Affairs in the country.
The thronged of condolence messages by many prominent Nigerians, was one among many of the former Speaker of Taraba State, Rt Hon Abel Peter Diah joined in mourning Mrs. Jummai, where his letter read weeping the passing away of the former Minister.
Diah recounted their conversation in a good Sunday shortly before she left for Egypt, Cairo, of which she called him and said:
"Son, I wouldn't want this Easter period to pass by without me hearing your voice and to say my greetings to you. I will be leaving for Cairo for medical attention."
Peter who said late Aisha is fun of calling him a son and he calls her mother, at all times given her the decorum of a Son to her, cried that she has gone and left the imprints of good legacies in Taraba and Nigeria as a country that will be hard to erase in decades of years to come.
He consoled that Maman Taraba as she is generally known, her good deeds to humanity will find her a special place in Paradise.
While consoling and praying for the Sarkin Ayuka’s Family, Muri Emirate, and people of Taraba State, over the painful exit of Sen Alhassan, his Political associate and a sister to many prominent Nigerians, he said his family and the good people of Mbamnga, the Constituency is representing in the state House of Assembly is extending their heart of sincere condolences.
"We are extremely saddened by the shocking news of her death at her prime, but we trust God has a purpose for calling her at this time when the nation needs her service more.
"We are consoled by the fact that she lived a worthy life and contributed immensely in nation-building. Our prayer is that God reposes her soul and grant her everlasting rest, as we pray for the entire Muri Emirate to be granted the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss." He moaned
