The inauguration of the board of the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, took place today at Obasanjo Hall in the Federal Secretariat, Abuja.
Alhaji Ahmad Sajoh, a former commissioner for Information in Adamawa State, was one of the inaugurated board members.

The Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Muhammed, charged the new board members to see their appointment as a call to service.
He said, “the role of the board is to formulate policies and not to engage in the day-to-day running of the Commission.”
Muhammed also encouraged the new board to have a cordial relationship with the DG of the NBC.
This position was reiterated by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Dr. Ifeoma Anyanwutaku.
She said: “the role of the Governing Board in assisting the Commission to to effectively discharge its mandate to the Nigeria people is of utmost importance.
“This is particularly germane in a multicultural, multi ethnic and religious diverse country such as Nigeria.”
Speaking on behalf of the new board, its chairman Bashir Bolarinwa pledged to ensure that the board sticks to its supervisory roles and helps the Commission to achieve its goals.
The Senator Representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani was one of the dignitaries who attended the ceremony.
Speaking shortly after the inauguration Hon. Ahmad Sajoh told journalists that he and his colleagues will discharge their functions according to the law and their oath of office.
