Governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress on Monday paid a Sallah homage to President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State.
The governors, after a closed-door meeting with Buhari, told newsmen they were pleased with former Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima’s selection as the vice-presidential candidate of the party in the forthcoming 2023 elections.
Noting that the presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Tinubu made the right choice, the governors said that Shettima is one of Nigeria’s finest.
The governors who visited Buhari include Aminu Masari of Katsina, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, Abubakar Bello of Niger, Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, Simon Lalong of Plateau and Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa.
Speaking after the meeting, Progressives Governors Forum Chairman, Bagudu said that the Tinubu-Shettima presidency would complement all the achievements President Buhari recorded in the last seven years.
He further said that the PGF is working hard to win the upcoming Osun governorship election.
Also speaking, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma said that the choice of Shettima was a collective decision, assuring that the 22 governors of the APC would deliver 22 States in the upcoming 2023 general elections.
