Security chiefs, LG Chairmen traditional Rulers hold peace meeting in Benue

In a bid towards finding lasting solutions to the constant skirmishes oftentimes resulting to destruction of several properties and many losses of lives between Bonta community of SKonshisha and Oju LGAS in Benue State.

Joint security tasks force which comprises special Brigade/ SEC/ 1,Brigadier General A Rabiu and Commissioner of police CP Benue State command Hassan Steve Yabanet yesterday held peace forum with local Government Council Chairman of Konshisha, as well as Traditional leaders and stakeholders at headquarters of the Council in Konshisha.

The purpose of the meeting it was learnt to brainstorm with view to finding lasting solutions threatening harmonious coexistence amongst the communities for peaceful resolutions.

It was discovered during the stakeholders meeting Commissioner for Humanitarian and Disaster Management and the Chairman of Asset Recovery Affairs was in attendance

The Commander 401 Special Forces Brigade advocated for peace and urged the natives to be brothers keeper by living peacefully.

He further warned the youths from taking laws into their hands and lay their grievances to the appropriate authorities.

The affected communities were enjoined to await the Boundary Demarcation Commission to demarcate the disputed land and embrace peaceful coexistence among themselves for the overall good and development of the state now that a Reverend gentle man is on the throne.

It was gathered that the meeting was attended by both sides of Oju and Konshisha LGA with aimed to find measures to put an end to permanent penacea for peace to arises to the axis.

It could be recalled that in 2023 crises ensued between Oju and Konshisha LGAS over land encroachment where many people were brutally massacre and killed as well as properties destroyed.
