A significant step toward improving healthcare in Adamawa State has been achieved as the bill to establish a specialized Eye Centre in Yola successfully passed its second reading in the Senate. The bill, sponsored by Senator Iya Abbas, representing Adamawa Central, is now advancing to the House of Representatives for further assessment and deliberation.
Senator Abbas, speaking after the Senate session, expressed optimism about the bill’s progress, emphasizing its potential to address critical eye care needs in the region. “This Eye Centre will bring specialized treatment closer to the people of Adamawa, reducing the burden of traveling long distances for care,” he stated.
The proposed facility in Yola is expected to provide advanced diagnostic and treatment services, tackling prevalent eye conditions in the state.
