The immediate past Governor of Adamawa state, Senator Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow on Monday visited the state Secretariat of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yola and harped on Unity as the sure way of making the party a strong force.

Jibrilla who thronged the party alongside his former commissioners, aides, and supporters said he was in the party to break the long silence since after the 2019 general elections.

According to him the long silence is not intentional or deliberate is just to excuse the newly elected Governor, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to contribute his quarter to the development of the state as there can’t be two Governors at a stage.

While apologizing for his long absence, Umaru appreciate the people of Adamawa for supporting him while a Governor for four years, and called on all party members to unite for another victory come 2023.

“I’m sorry for not coming at the time you wanted. It’s due to some obvious reasons.

“Let’s unite, it’s only unity that will give us an edge over any opposing party,” Umaru said

He also said that another reason for his visit is to equally condole and register his consolation to the APC family over the demise of its two officials in the state.

Bindow prayed that God in His infinite Mercy to grant them eternal rest, asking the leadership of the party under Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal to take solace in God.

“I’m registering my condolences to all our party members and some stakeholders, I pray to God to give them eternal rest.” He added

Muhammadu while addressing the cheering supporters said power is from God and he particularly gave it to me not because I’m better than any, He just decided to give us and He decided to collect it back from us for His glory.

The former Governor reiterated that everyone in the Party must change their way of thinking toward the unity of purpose.

He appreciated the bold steps of so many people that defected to APC, other people who are part of the party formation at the initial stage like Abdulaziz Nyako just returned to their original home which they built.

Jibrilla also made a passionate appeal that the coming party’s registration and revalidation are very key and paramount to the APC party and as such all party supporters should mobilize people for the registration.

“Go for party registration, go, and do it for our generation. Adamawa is an APC state. It’s just a single registration, any attempt to register twice will render it invalid.” He said
