Sen Grace’s Defection Will Not Affect Fortunes Of PDP- Adamawa Stakeholders

Adamawa State Southern Senatorial stakeholders of people’s Democratic Party (PDP) said the defection of Senator Grace Folashade Jackson Bent shall not in anyway affect the fortunes of the party in the Senatorial Zone and Adamawa State at large.

The State Chairman of the PDP, Barrister Tahir Shehu stated this while briefing newsmen during a press conference organised by PDP southern stakeholders in the Banquet Hall, Government House, Yola Thursday.

Barrister Shehu described the exit of Senator Grace Folashade Bent from the party as the beginning of yet another crisis in the party she joined, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said it is a clear indication that Senator Grace is going to face hurdles in her new found love, the All Progressives Congress (APC) describing it as the only option left for her to defect where she feels she will be give automatic ticket by the APC top echlon.

He saluted the courage of Senator Grace Folashade Bent for her open confession during the occasion of her defection that PDP brought her to political limelight and made her a saleable material.

The party chairman believed that Grace has no doubt after seeing the unprecedented performance by Senator Binos Dauda, it dawned on her that she will no longer make it in PDP considering her disrespect fo the traditional Institution and elders of her husband’s place.

He further said despite the enormous power Senator Grace wielded in the past, it is utterly harmful for her to defect to APC carrying along only one Local Government Party Executive, that is, the Demsa Local Government Party women Leader who is a house help to her.

Barrister Shehu said it was expected that having served as a Senator, she should have controlled of at least 70% of the Local Government Party Executives from her home base.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) shall win the Presidential, Governorship, National/State Assembly elections in Adamawa State during the forthcoming 2023 general polls.

He added that as a result of her disparaging attitude for the people of Adamawa State, she neither has a house in Numan her Senatorial Headquarter nor in Yola the State capital but rather stays in hotels whenever she in the state.
