Senator Abbo Mourns with Adamawa Communities, Donates 5 Bags of Rice, ₦1.2m to Feed Almajiri During Ramadan

Senator Ishaku Abbo, who once represented Adamawa North, has embarked on a heartfelt mission of condolence and charity across Adamawa State, touching the lives of grieving families during the holy month of Ramadan.

In a series of visits, Senator Abbo offered prayers, words of solace, and substantial donations to honor the departed and support their loved ones.

On Tuesday, Senator Abbo visited Daware in Fofure Local Government Area to mourn with the family of the late Baba Modibbo Daware, a revered figure in the Tijjaniyya Movement and a servant of Allah whose passing has left a void in the Muslim Ummah.

Addressing the family, particularly Alhaji Umar, a son of the deceased and a close associate of the former senator, Abbo expressed his deep condolences.

“May his soul rest in Jannah,” he prayed, extending his sympathies to the late Modibbo Daware’s children, grandchildren, followers, and the broader Islamic community.

Additionally, he provided ₦200,000 to the Islamic teachers at the local mosque and five bags of rice to support the feeding of Almajiris—students under the late Modibbo Daware’s care—during Ramadan.

Later that day, the former senator proceeded to the home of Alhaji Tanko Girei, a former Permanent Secretary in the Adamawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports. The two had collaborated years ago when Abbo served as Executive Secretary of Adamawa United Football Club. Alhaji Girei recently lost his wife of over 40 years, and Senator Abbo offered his condolences, praying for strength for the grieving family.

Reflecting on his recent activities, Abbo noted that just a day earlier, he had visited the family of the late Honourable Yettisuri, the immediate past representative of Jada/Mbulo State Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly.

Honourable Yettisuri succumbed to a prolonged illness, and Abbo joined the community in mourning his loss. He also paid a condolence visit to Tukur A. Sahabo, whose father, Dr. Sahabo, recently passed away.

In each visit, Senator Abbo invoked prayers for the departed: “May Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala accept their souls in Jannah and forgive them their shortcomings. May Allah light their graves with His lamp of mercy. Amin.” He concluded with a reflective plea in Hausa, “Allah ya shirya mu da muna da rai,” meaning “May Allah guide us who are still alive.”
