The Adamawa State leader of Youths Centre for Peace and Positive Leadership,comrade Kabiru Duhu on an interview with our Correspondent Tom Garba, laments the way and manner the present Senator representing the State’s Northern senatorial zone, Mrs Binta Masi Garba Tumba to be representing below the wish and expectations of the people of the area. He regrettably voiced out the obnoxious character of the Senator of the red chambers at the National Assembly. He revealed that the Senator is a huge betrayal of his people’s mandate.
Q. Adamawa seems to have a political stability, what’s the secret
D. Well the secret is purely the act of God through His mercies and for the basic fact that our present Governor is working and Adamawa people I can say it loud and clear their mandate is not wasted in the central administration of the state. It’s also pertinent to note that our Lawmakers at National Assembly are wonderfully doing well expect the senator representing Adamawa state Northern Senatorial District, Senator Binta Masi Garba Tumba, that woman a total failure, we are regretting in our initial choice of her being our Senator.
Q. You sound serious about Senator Masi why’s What happening? We even got a report some times ago she was stoned in Mubi by angry youths?
D. What happened to her in Mubi is very unfortunate situation and I think she was attacked because she has no followers anymore, people have lost confident in her, she is not representing us as expected and I think is as a result of her failure in not fulfilling her promises, she abandoned her own Constituency and people are now regretting voting her to the red chambers . No leader will be attacked by his/her followers if the followers are satisfied with their style of leadership. Am from the zone and I will tell you without any doubt that Sen. Binta Masi Garba has failed us and nobody is celebrating her in the entire Constituency, in Madagali for instance we have challenges of insurgency, the vigilantes are not getting enough from our representatives, Bomb Blast twice in the market and motor Park, is very unfortunate but am of the option that people shouldn’t be violent in anyway.
Q. What is actually her sins?
D. To tell you the truth Binta is like the devil leader,she succeeded in committing heinous sins against every body including those stakeholders that brought her to power. Tell me what is the meaning and the purpose of her being our Senator when our calls are not important to her to pick, what is the point of we having her as a senator when even our kinsmen she don’t regards them as anything. No any measure constituency projects she embarks in the entire LGAs she is representing? I mean a woman that our Mandate she violated by employing others from other places to work for her?
At the National Assembly she cannot present any tangible law for the growth of Nigerian people. She end up involving herself in the internal politics of the National Assembly without achieving something very meaning to us in Adamawa State. I mean this woman is a total failure,a woman who betrays our votes and surfaces back only when she needs our votes. For this time we say no way.
Q2. Will you adjudge her crime to what people are saying she will not contest again?
I believe that even in the primary election she will not go anywhere with this kind of leadership she is doing, we trusted her and voted for her but today no any Local Government that still want her to contest in the Senate from her Constituency. I will advice not to contest, she will hit the political rock that will end her political career.
Q3. What is her plan for 2019?
Her plan is left for her, but let her forget about 2019 in Adamawa State, she abandoned her Constituency, as am talking to you now even those that worked for her success in the 2015 elections she abandoned them, she doesn’t pick her calls, she doesn’t reply messages and if you want to complain to her about her Constituency she won’t even allow you to see her, very unfortunate.
Q.She seems to be one among the three (3) Senator’s that bend to fight Governor Bindow on seizing the party structures ahead of 2019?
Fight? How on earth can she fight a Governor in control of the whole state? She cannot even control her own Local Government and no any Local Government in her Constituency that will support her, is it Madagali, Michika, Maiha or Mubi? Ask yourself.
Q. Why is that everybody is bitterly complaining bad against her?
D. Why won’t they complain? When other people are having Constituency development projects in their various Constituencies and they are celebrating their leaders and we are having nothing on ground, is too bad. Am telling you just go to her office in Abuja and see it for yourself, she doesn’t value people. We receives complain from people daily on her attitude but it is a lesson to us all.
Q.Lastly what will you say to your people in Adamawa Northern Senatorial District?
I want them to be calm and focused, we need visionary leaders who will understand that they are in government to serve not to steal, unfortunately we have non in the Adamawa North, we need to stop fighting ourselves and team up to take the fight to the people who are stealing what belongs to all of us.
They should be vigilant and know who their real enemy is, so that they will not keep fighting a wrong battle.
