Senatorial aspirant Honour for his contributions to education growth

An aspirant vying for the senatorial seat for Adamawa central zone, Barr Aliyu Wakili Boya has been honoured his enormous contributions to the growth of education in Adamawa state.

Aliyu who is the Sarkin Matasa (Youth Leader) of Adamawa Emirate Council, said education in Adamawa state is an agenda he set to pursue at any given opportunity.

Boya who is also the immediate past chairman of Fufore Local Government Area of Adamawa was honoured as “Friend of Education” by the state chapter of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPPS) and Parent Teachers Association (PTA), at a ceremony in Yola.

Speaking at the occasion, spokesman of ANCOPPS, Mr Abana Yusuf, said Boya deserved to be honoured for what he did to boost education in the emirate.

Yusuf listed construction and rehabilitation of classrooms, provision of scholarship and bursary support to students as well as sponsoring the education of some physically challenged students among others as some of the contributions of Boya.

“Boya also paid the WAEC and NECO fees of best male and female students in 40 secondary schools,” Yusuf said.
He explained that Boya who is a prominent aspirant in APC for the seat of Adamawa Central Senatorial seat deserve support to actualized his dream so that he would continue his selfless service to humanity.

Also speaking at the occasion, Adamawa Commissioner of Education, Mr Julius Kadala, who lauded ANCOPPS and PTA for honouring Boya said such honour would ginger him to do more.
Kadala said the effort by Boya was a major step in complementing the state government giant stride in transforming the education sector.

“The state government had in 2017 declared state of emergency on education leading to massive reconstruction and rehabilitation of schools as well as purchase of teaching and learning equipments.

“The contribution of Boya is complementary and in line with the government transformation agenda,” Kadala said.

In his remarks, Boya reiterated his commitment to promoting education in the emirate council and state in general and urged other leaders in the state to also contribute their quota for maximum effect.
