The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Barr. Boss Mustapha, in company of the Adamawa State Governor, Federal Permanent Secretary Ecological, Inaugurated an ICT Centre for the Government Girls College, (GGC) Yola, and Government Secondary School Garaha with state-of-the-art modern facilities.
Boss also donated 600 Mattresses as an effort to support better learning and research environment to both the teachers and the students in GGC and GSS Garaha.
Mustapha was in Adamawa on official assignment, inaugurated over 20 official and personal projects across the State Saturday which includes the FCE Yola Ecological roads and drainages projects, the installations of 100 security solar lights within the campus, the commissioning of the Hong-Garaha road, and another ICT Centre in Garaha which was sponsored by the Nigerian Content Development Commission.
The SGF was flanked by the Executive Governor of Adamawa State ably represented by the honourable Commissioner of Works and Energy, Hon. Adamu Atiku Abubakar and the Federal Permanent Secretary on Ecological, Dr. Habiba Lawal.
At the GGY occasion, the principal and other stakeholders appreciate the noble gesture by the SGF and encouraged the students towards learning ICT which is the direction of the future and now.
While at the FCE Yola and other locations of the projects inauguration, deep appreciation was registered by all stakeholders while the Dr. Habiba continued to encourage the communities on maintenance culture and taking possession of the projects interventions.
Mustapha in his remarks, at both the GGY and the Garaha ICT centers, said, “that the emergence of the novel Coronavirus, has created reason for maximum utilisation of the ICT, where the recent African Union (A.U) meeting holds virtually, that is; at the comforts of the heads of AU and presidents countries without anyone unnecessary travel rather via zoom and other platforms created by the federal ministry of information and digital economy”, the SGF said.
He “further encouraged the the students to read hard and maintain the ICT infrastructures mounted in their schools, assuring them that with education, the students are all limitless”, the SGF added.
