Shallpella :The PERISCOPE Congratulating Achiever for a well deserved promotion

Umar Shallpella Hassan the PERISCOPE 2016 Award winner (Investigative Journalism category) is being appointed as Deputy Editor of The Scope Newspaper; (Adamawa state owned weekly publication) Shallpella was a staff of Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC Yola) who has been a contributing editor with the Scope newspaper.
Shallpella additionally, reports for the Daldalkura Radio International from Adamawa state.

Shallpella has been a member of the Editorial Board with the PERISCOPE newspaper.

Shallpella’s new appointment has invariably further justitied the journalistic strength of the PERISCOPE.
The Scope would not die with silence in the face of alienation and annihilation the north east was subjected to, more particularly, when at the national level, Admiral Murtala Hammanyero Nyako the then Adamawa state governor was penciled down for humiliation by impeachment simply because he cried fault against the perceived sponsors of BH insurgency; That was when the caurageous Shehu Aliyu was the editor-in-chief of the tabloid. The paper was said to be losing its quality and acceptability with the termination of Shehu Aliyu’s tenure owing to political tussle, which though he was not engaged in, has affected by terminating his ediorship with the Scope anyway. The service he would not let wasted hence, would have to be diverted to a worthy and unbiased source of information dissemination through the print. Suffices to say that Shehu Aliyu in addition to being the PERISCOPE 2016 merit award recipient, has equally been a member of the editorial board of The PERISCOPE.

Mohammed Ismail, who was equally elevated to the acting editor with the Leadership newspaper, has also been an editorial member with the PERISCOPE, He has also won the PERISCOPE 2016 merit award.

The list could go on and on should it be extended to the international horizon with the professional contributions of Africans in Diaspora.
