The member representing Shelleng constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abubakar Isa has heeded to the calls, persuasion and pressure on him to re-contest for the third time in the State Legislative to represent his constituents.
He also vowed to continue using his capacity as ranking member to accelerate more job opportunities, infrastructural development among other people- oriented democracy devidends to the people of Shelleng.
Marafan Shelleng made this Known while presenting his nomination and expresseion of interest forms to party executives, All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders and other teeming supporters at his Karewa residence Yola.
He said, his decision to seek for a third term as member representing the good people of Shelleng constituency, followed series of calls for continuity by various political pressure groups, stakeholders, party officials and political associates, this according to him will enable them continue reaping the devidends of democracy he is providing at their doorsteps.
Speaking on his legislative duties Marafa explained that, he have been able to initiate several bills and motions on the floor of the house and most of them have passed the third reading and assented to while others are in the executive waiting for assent as many are at the committee level for scrutiny and reading stages.
He added that, one his his bills waiting for Governor’s assent is the recent State Security Trust Fund bill he sponsored and passed into law on the floor of the house last week.
He said, though legislative is not an executive branch of government, their function is to make laws in ensuring good governance but he facilitated for the construction of about thirty seven point five kilometer road from Kiri to Shelleng and recently lobbied for the construction of Shelleng to Bakta rural road.
Abubakar Isa added, following his loyalty to the government of the day he also facilitated the ongoing construction of Shelleng Cottage Hospital which was flagged off by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Finitiri in August, twenty twenty and now at completion stage
On agricultural activities in Shelleng Constituency Abubakar Isa said he provided water pumps, fertilizer, spraying machines, herbicides among other basic farming tools to Farmers across the political wards in the area which according to him yielded positive result towards boosting food security and enhancing revenue generation.
While commending Marafa for answering the call of his constituents to re-contest for the third time, the APC Chairman Shelleng local government Alhaji Yawale Tela described him as tested and trusted representative with quality leadership style.
Yawale Tela said through the effort of Abubakar Isa to provide quality and sound education to his people apart from personal contributions to the sector, he also lobby for the renovation, construction and upgrading of schools, blocks of classrooms in primary and secondary schools across, scholarship and ICT training to his constituents.
He called on delegates to continue with their support to the lawmaker especially in his third term re-election bid to enable him provide more devidends of democracy to the people of Shelleng
Addressing the party faithfuls the APC Youth Leader Adamawa South Mr Stephen Gerison saluted the lawmaker for his concern towards meeting the yearning and aspirations of his people especially in the areas of training Youth and Women on various skills of their choice, construction of shades to various sections of market men and women and quality health care to the people.
On his part a frontline politician in Shelleng Alhaji Maina Shaibu Isa Dasong while assuring the lawmaker of their support, thanked him for providing multi million naira electrification project of Kiri-Bobere/Gunduwo- wuroyanka Communities and rehabilitation of Shelleng water board to connect houses within the Shelleng metropolis with pipe born water.
In his remarks a former solicitor general and Permanent Secretary ministry of Justice Barrister Suleiman Shelleng said Alhaji Abubakar Isa was been able to facilitated for the employment of youths in various federal agencies, State, local government and private sector while some others served as commissioners and members of boards and agencies, hence the need for his re-election for third time.
In their seperate goodwill messages, Alhaji Mustapha Kiri, Hajiya Joda Shelleng, Malam Nuhu Kem and Shehu Dangote Declared their support to the lawmaker who they described as a representative who put the interest of his constituency above his own personal interest.
The Shelleng stakeholders later accompanied Alhaji Abubakar Isa to the State APC secretariat where he submitted his nomination and expresseion of interest forms to the party after meeting all the requirements.
