Son Among Three Suspected Kidnappers Arrested in Adamawa Police Raid on Hideout

In a shocking development that highlights the betrayal often lurking within families, the Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers, including the biological son of the victim, following a coordinated intelligence-led operation in Fufore Local Government Area.

The breakthrough came after Alhaji Ahmadu was abducted on January 30, 2026, in Malabu District. Acting on directives from Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, PSC (+), police operatives teamed up with members of the Miyetti-Allah vigilante group to raid a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in Jera village, Malabu District.

The operation resulted in the arrest of: Lawali Haruna, 45 years old; Yahaya Ibrahim, 25 years old, and Da’u Alhaji Ahmadu, 28 years old

All three suspects are residents of Jera in Fufore LGA. Most disturbingly, Da’u Alhaji Ahmadu confessed to being the biological son of the kidnapped victim, Alhaji Ahmadu. The suspects have all admitted their involvement in the abduction.

Police authorities described the arrests as “another significant breakthrough” in the state’s ongoing crackdown on kidnapping and violent crimes.

Efforts are intensifying to rescue Alhaji Ahmadu unharmed and to capture remaining members of the criminal syndicate. The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.

CP Dankombo Morris commended the strong collaboration between the police and local security stakeholders, including the Miyetti-Allah group, for enabling the swift operation. He reassured residents of Adamawa that the command is fully committed to protecting lives and property across the state.

“The synergy with community stakeholders is key to our success,” the Commissioner stated. He called on the public to provide timely and credible information to security agencies to help dismantle criminal networks.

The Adamawa State Police Command, through Police Public Relations Officer SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, emphasized that further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
