‎’Stay Dressed, Ready for God’s Service’: Ass. Gen. Secretary Urges Youths as Over 1,500 Converge in Abia for ECWA Triennial Conference

More than 1,500 vibrant young people from across Nigeria and beyond have gathered at the MPN International Convention Center (Gilgal) in Obuzor-Asa, Abia State, for the second day of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Youth Fellowship International Triennial Conference 2026.

The high-energy spiritual event, themed “Keep Your Lamps Burning” (drawn from Luke 12:35), continued to inspire delegates with a stirring charge from the ECWA Assistant General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Sunday Congo.

In his powerful sermon titled “Be Dressed and Ready for Service: Keep Your Lamps Burning,” Rev. Dr. Congo called on the youth to respond to their divine calling with urgency, unwavering commitment, and full dedication of their God-given talents to kingdom work.

Highlighting the brevity of life and the urgency of the Gospel mission, he reminded attendees of the sacrificial legacy of ECWA’s founding missionaries Thomas Kent, Walter Gowans, and Roland Bingham who abandoned personal comfort to advance the faith.

Echoing John 9:4 “We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work” Rev. Dr. Congo passionately exhorted the young generation to serve diligently and seize every opportunity for impact before time runs out.

The conference has drawn top ECWA leadership, including Rev. Dr. Job Ayuba Bagat, ECWA President; Rev. Dr. Sunday Ajise, Vice President; Rev. Dr. Ayuba Asheshe, General Secretary; Rev. Dr. Sunday Congo, Assistant General Secretary; and Elder Haruna Danjuma, Treasurer, along with various directors, heads of units, and other senior dignitaries.

This triennial gathering remains a vital platform for spiritual renewal, deep fellowship, worship, empowerment, and strategic planning for youth-led mission initiatives within ECWA. Participants are experiencing spirit-filled sessions, powerful teachings, and unifying activities designed to strengthen faith and purpose.

The three-day conference, which began earlier this week, is set to conclude on Saturday with what promises to be an impactful climax.
