An advocate of the Masses, Alhaji Uba Dan’arewa has condemned the press statement issued at the instance of the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) Publicity secretary, Abdulaziz Suleiman who claimed that the destruction, demolition, and burning of structures and assets belonging to the peaceful northern settlers of three communities from Thursday 27th to Friday 28th July 2023, were carried out under the behest of Governor Hope Uzodimma.
Uba blasted the group and regarded them as people good in supporting evil by inciting religious crisis in the country at all times.
Uba said that what happened in Imo has been happening in many parts of the country but CNG has never gave any press statement.
He said the group of Northern settlers in Imo recently embroiled in leadership tussles and the bad ones among them decided to engage in all forms of criminality in Imo.
Uba said for Governor Hope Uzodimma to demolished structures and business areas belonging to the Northerners he must have carried out the needed investigation of who they are and what they have been doing.
Uba, An All Progressives Congress (APC), loyalist and a Business Man who is known to advocate for good governance, a forefront in fighting for the right of the masses blamed the Northerners in Imo for forming different criminal groups and turning themselves hoodlums into the state housing to improve their standard of living .
He said CNG is always trivializing issues based on religion not looking at issues in the interest of the masses and the nation at large.
He revealed that Governor Hope has been so friendly with the Muslims in the state and has given magnanimous appointments to Muslims community.
According to him, Hope is the first Governor that sponsored hundreds of Muslims to go for holy pilgrims and gave a Northerner to be the amiral Hajj.
Uba in an interview with our Correspondent in Yola also revealed that Governor Hope has appointed Senior Advisers from the North which is the first in history.
He condemned the stand of CNG who are always narrowed-minded when it comes to issues affecting Northern people elsewhere and anywhere that is having none Muslims as the dominant people.
He gave the example of the many demolitions that were carried out by Governor Nasir Elrufai since he was an FCT minister and down to his reigning days as the Governor of Kaduna state.
He said Nasir demolished structures, places of worship that have not met the government building policy of Kaduna state.
He also destroyed areas that are constitutional nuisances and threats to security in Kaduna state and CNG and their shoddy ways of giving press statements couldn’t say anything.
Uba further gave the example of the recent destruction of a suburb area in Abuja municipal area by the outgone minister of FCT.
He said part of Jabi was demolished based on the security threats the area is constituting in the federal capital territory.
He, therefore said Hope has the right to destroy any place that is constituting security threats in Imo the nation at large will bear the brunt.
“As a Muslim, my religion thought me to fight injustices and never support what is evil, our Brothers in Imo were fighting over leadership positions, and some of them turned criminals, committing all sorts of crimes. So because they are from the North and Muslims they should be allowed to continue their evil ways?
“No! We can’t get it right this way. Can a Muslim or a Christian go to America, or Mecca and begin to commit all types of crimes and be allowed because he or she is a Muslim or Christian? ” Uba said
He continued to say that the country must stand against all kinds of evil not minding the person behind the crime.
He blasted CNG to be a useless group if they can not stand for Justice and fight the course of a common man irrespective of religion or section one is from.
He said the group is the mere formation of hopeless Nigerians who are following the bidding of their taskmasters. Organize or issue press statements whenever is against their interest to incite the North against the East or West.
“This so-called coalition group is fanning embers of war in the country, I’m calling on the security agencies to put an eye on them because they are capable of setting us all ablaze over a morsel of bread they get from a press conference.
“I want to call on all our Muslim faithful around the country to disregard the noise made by CNG. It is a hate speech against the government that has done well for the Muslims and is still doing. ” He added
