Sudan’s Military Topples, Arrests Omar Al-Bashir

Sudan’s President of thirty years, Omar Al-Bashir has been toppled by the nation’s military after months of jamboree-like protests across capital city, Khartoum.

Minister of Defence, Ahmed Awaf Ibn Auf confirmed this in a television address on Thursday.

Recall Aledeh had earlier reported that Al-Bashir has resigned as President, following a report by Emirati news daily, Arabiya.

Army general Ibn Auf, sitting on golds upholstered armchair announced a three-month state of emergency, a nationwide ceasefire and the suspension of the constitution.

He also said Sudan’s air space would be closed for 24 hours and border crossings shut until further notice, according to Al-Jazeera.

Al-Bashir, considered a difficult and inflexible ruler has ruled the country for 30 years with war crimes’ allegations by the ICC on his neck and several others.
