Sultan Of Sokoto Declares June 28th day to mark Eid-el-Kabir

The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia on Sunday announced that today Monday, June 19, mark the first Dhul-Hijjah 1444 after sighting the new crescent in the Kingdom.

The Saudi Arabia apex court in the statement said “Arafat Day falls on Tuesday, June 27th, while Wednesday, June 28th, will be the first day of Eid Al Adha’’

In the same vein, the Sultan of Sokoto and President of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, declared Monday, June 19, 2023, as the first day of Dhul-Hijjah 1444 AH.
This is contained in a statement Sunday night from the council.

“The Sultanate Council of Sokoto has declared Monday 19 June 2023 as the first day of Zul-Hijjah 1444 AH.
Sultan also declares June 28th as Eid-el-Kabir day.

Pilgrims will flock at the beginning of Monday, June 26, to Mina holy site to spend the day of Tarwiyah (water provision) in pursuit of the Prophetic Sunnah, in preparation to stand in the Arafat holy site, on Tuesday, June 27, which marks the climax of the annual pilgrimage of Hajj.
